Our National Organizational Structure

The Elizabeth Lindsay Davis Club is a local organization with ties to National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs, Inc. and Youth Affiliates.

The birth of NACWC in 1896 marked the beginning of a new era in African American womanhood and provided a vehicle for action through organized effort.

The National Association of Colored Women's Club, Inc. (NACWC) is a fellowship of women united in service to lift the standards of the home and family. The Association's endeavor is to promote interracial understanding, justice and peace among all people, raise the standard of the home, and advance the moral, economic, social and religious welfare of the family.

The Association also strives to promote the education of women and youth through local, state, and regional workshops, seminars and scholarship assistance.

The Association became and has remained a significant voice in national affairs and contributed to the uplifting of the American way of life since 1896. Membership includes women and youth in 32 states dedicated to "raising to the highest plane the homelife, moral standards, and civic life of our race." As we continue in the mainstream of economic progression, we, the colored women of the United States of America, stand united for service to humanity.

Our National Headquarters serves as the point of centralization for all our Regional and State Associations and is located in the nation's capital, at 1601 R Street, N.W.  For more information on the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs and Youth Affiliates, please visit the national organizational site at www.nacwc.org.
